Science Experiment

Today we did an impromptu science experiment in the afternoon, because I found a really cool experiment that we just had to try!  :)

Take a bar of Ivory soap and cut it in 4 pieces, trust me DO NOT use the whole bar!

Put it in the microwave for 3 minutes (it will take less than 1 minute).

It comes out like this!  So cool!

Only Ivory works!  Why?  See end of post.

Mr. L and the puffed up bar of soap.

Mr. D. and part  of the puffed up bar of soap

Miss R. and part of her puffed up soap.

Mr. E and his puffed up bar of soap!

This is a bar of Olay we tried doesn't work!  See why at the end of this post.

Two 1/4 pieces of a bar of Ivory soap.

Apparently air is incooperated into the Ivory bar of soap when it is made and when you microwave it, the air comes out and make it puff up.  Other bars of soap will not do it because they are not made that way.  As shown with our bar of Olay soap, it only melted.
